I Want NY Pizza (iwantnypizza.com) officially announced that the company is open for business. Everybody loves New York Pizza, Ed Powers pointed out. I thought what if we could develop a system for getting real New York pizza to former New Yorkers and others who want to experience the real thing? To accomplish this we, created I Want NY Pizza, a company that produces real New York pizza in New York area pizza shops and also sends the pizzas directly to customers. After months of planning and testing, we are now are pleased to be open for business and ready to bring great New York style pizzas to anyone who has the craving for one, said Ed Powers. The pizzas and fine Italian food products offered by I Want NY Pizza are produced by a cooperative of the finest pizza artists in the tri-state area.
Most of us have stained a carpet at one time or another. Food, juice, paint, kids, pets--these are just a few of the hazards that beset many poor carpets. Fortunately, there are a number of ways to combat and remove tough stains. Be sure to test an unseen corner of your carpet before trying any of the following solutions to make sure that the solution works for your carpet and doesn't hurt the color or fabric. Here are a few of the most common stains and ideas for removing them:

Blood

Water, ammonia, and dish detergent:
1)	Blot with a white paper towel to remove as much of the blood stain that you can and neutralize by spraying the stain with a solution of 1/2 cup cool water and 1 Tbsp. of clear ammonia, making sure not to wet the backing.
2)	Blot with a white paper towel to remove excess moisture
3)	Mix 1 qt. cool water and 1/4 tsp. of dish detergent, like Dawn or Joy, that doesn't contain bleach or lanolin (Dawn, Joy, etc) and Spray onto stained area.
4)	Work the solution in by blotting the area and rinse with a spray bottle of cool water.
5)	Apply a 'pad' of paper towels and place something heavy on top, like a few heavy books, to absorb the moisture.*

*If all of the stain does not come out, add 3 percent hydrogen peroxide to the ends of the carpet and let it set for 1 hour. Repeat step number five.

Hydrogen peroxide and boiling water:
1)	Pour hydrogen peroxide onto carpet.
2)	Blot with clean white cloth and follow immediately with boiling water. Blot again, and stain should be gone.

Gum

Peanut Butter:
1)	Put a spoon of peanut butter on the gum.
2)	Use Spoon to mix it into gum and let stand for three minutes.
3)	Rub with spoon to loosen and wipe with a wet rag with a picking motion.
4)	Take a rag and wash the spot.

Ice: Put pile of ice on gum and let melt until gum is hardened (freeze it). It becomes brittle, and you may be able to remove it. If this doesn't work, try another option.

Lighter Fluid: apply lighter fluid on for a few minutes and wipe-the gum should come out.

WD-40: soak carpet with the WD-40 and rub. If it doesn't work the first time, try again. It should come out after a couple of applications.

Wax

Lighter Fluid: put lighter fluid on for a few minutes and wipe-the wax should come out.

Warm iron and damp, white cloth:
1)	Get as much wax as possible off the carpet--scrape and pick at the wax after it has dried.
2)	Dampen a clean white cloth and squeeze out excess water.
3)	Place over the wax and apply warm iron over cloth. The steam melts the wax and it adheres to the cloth. Repeat until the steam pulls the wax completely off.

Grease

Vacuum, water, and ammonia:
1)	Mix a solution that contains 50% water, 50% ammonia, and a few drops of liquid soap.
2)	Spray on stain and let it sit no more than a few seconds. Use a wet-use vacuum and suck up the stain.
3)	Repeat until stain is gone, and then vacuum wet area until it is dry.

Paint Thinner: Dip toothbrush or pour a small portion onto stain. Dab or scrub stain until it is gone.

Club Soda: Pour soda onto spot and dab with cloth. Repeat if needed until stain is gone.

Pine-Sol: Dip toothbrush in pine-sol and scrub.

Ink

Non-Aerosol Hair Spray: treat stained area with non-aerosol hairspray and blot with a clean white towel. Repeat as many times as necessary to remove ink.

Lipstick

Ivory Soap: Rub with warm, wet cloth onto stain. Work until stain is gone.

Coffee and Tea

Soda Water: pour onto stain and blot dry; repeat until stain is gone.

Red Wine

Soda Water: pour onto stain and blot dry; repeat until stain is gone.
Salt: Poor a lot of salt on area and let it soak up the stain. Vacuum shortly after.

Juice and Kool-Aid

Salt: sprinkle salt onto stain and it will dissolve the liquid. Vacuum right after and the stain should be gone.

Hydrogen peroxide, warm water, and cloth:
1)	Mix hydrogen peroxide, small amount of dish detergent, and hydrogen peroxide.
2)	Pour or spray solution onto stain and let sit. Blot until stain is removed.

Pet Stains

Rubbing alcohol: pour onto urine stain and let dry; this kills bacteria and odor.

Baking Soda: pour baking soda over stain and let sit. Vacuum after it has soaked stain up.

White Vinegar: sprinkle stain with white vinegar. Wait three minutes, sponge from the middle of the stain out, and blot with clean, dry cloth. Repeat until stain has been removed.

Mud

Shaving cream (foamy): Spray white, foamy cream onto the spot. Let it sit for three minutes, and then blot.

"Can you hear me now?" may be a popular catch phrase for a giant telecommunications corporation, but could it also represent the future of your child's sense of hearing?

Lately, iPods have received a lot attention from healthcare professionals as a probable cause for hearing damage. The media has focused specifically on iPods as a potential cause for premature hearing loss, but really, this problem existed long before this modern device was created. Before the iPod we had portable CD players, and before that we had the Walkman. The fact is that any kind of device that requires kids to wear earphones could lead to hearing damage.

One of the best ways to maintain good hearing is to protect your ears. If you are in a place where there will be loud noises, you should be investing in some form of ear protection. Blasting loud music, as kids often do, can cause serious damage to the ears -especially when the music is played at high volume for long periods of time.

The best thing parents can do for their children is to educate them on the appropriate use of these kinds of personal listening devices. Children need to understand that loud noises can hurt their ears. The hardest part will be getting your kids to listen - especially with their loud music playing - but it's definitely worth a shot.

How loud is too loud? Hearing specialists state that sounds registering above 85 decibels could potentially damage the ears. That's about the noise level of typical traffic or a running vacuum. As a rule of thumb, in any situation where you have to raise your voice to be heard, you're probably in a place where you should be wearing ear protection.

Here are some tips to help protect your children's ears:

?	If you can hear their music even with their headphones on, then their music is too loud.
?	If they cannot hear any significant background noises while listening, then their music is too loud.
?	Headphones should never be used to mask background noises.
?	If you want to reduce the amount of background noises you hear while listening, you can purchase specially designed headphones for just such a purpose. These headphones will allow you to listen to music more clearly at lower volume.

Just remember the age-old saying, "Everything in moderation". Once children and teens are educated on how to listen to music effectively, they can continue to enjoy music into their old age..

Every fall, millions of lady bugs (or what seems like millions) swarm around my house here in west central Wisconsin, looking for a place to spend the winter.Actually, they are not "true" lady bugs. They are "Multi-Colored Asian Lady Beetles." The beetles are beneficial to the environment because they control aphids. And from what I've read, the multicolored lady beetles are much better at controlling aphids than the 'real' lady bugs. How can you tell the difference between native lady bugs and the multicolored beetles? Lady bugs are bright red. The multicolored lady beetles come in shades of orange, from light to dark. They also have many variations of patterns of spots. Some have almost no spots at all, and some have many spots. When you look closely at the multicolored lady beetles, it doesn't seem much of a stretch to say that no two are alike.Unfortunately, on warm, sunny fall days, the swarms of lady beetles are so thick around my house that in the afternoon, I hesitate to even go outside to get the mail. The beetles land in my hair, crawl behind my glasses and work their way down the collar of my shirt. Thousands of the bugs also find ways into my walk-out basement. I have swept them up by the snow-shovel-full (literally). My basement faces south, and the insects are attracted to light-colored structures with southern, sunny exposures that are on a hillside. The beetles come in around the screen door upstairs, too, and the next thing you know, I've got hundreds of them crawling on the walls and across the ceiling. In the spring, when it warms up, the beetles emerge from their winter hiding places. Beginning in March, dozens of beetles crawl around my home office, the kitchen, the dining room, the basement and in other parts of the house, looking for a way to get outside.Multi-Colored Asian Lady Beetles are not harmful when they are inside the house, although they can be annoying if present in significant numbers. It's a little disconcerting to pick up your coffee cup and almost swallow a beetle that has landed in your coffee or is crawling around the rim of the cup. And two or three lady beetles landing in your bowl of soup can definitely make you lose you appetite. If you have company coming, you also don't want guests to find lady beetles in their food or beverages.Although the beetles are not necessarily harmful if they're inside the house, when they swarm in the fall, they can create problems if they crawl into furnace vent pipes and plug them up. I have heard of them plugging attic vents, as well. And one woman reported to my husband (he is an Internet technician), that a lady bug crawled inside of her computer and shorted it out. When the beetles are present in large numbers, you can also smell them. The odor is a little like burned rubber or hot asphalt. When the beetles are threatened, the odor is particularly strong. They apparently view being swept off the walls (or vacuumed off) as a threatening situation. Sometimes when threatened, the beetles ooze an orange liquid, as well. I have read that the liquid can stain walls and fabrics, although I have not yet seen any evidence of that around my own house. Here are five ways that I've found to deal with lady bug infestations:? Vacuum up the beetles with the vacuum cleaner attachment. This may be somewhat time-consuming but it is a non-toxic and safe method to remove the bugs. As far as I'm concerned, time-consuming doesn't seem so important when thousands of lady beetles are invading my house. When vacuuming up large numbers of Multi-Colored Asian Lady Beetles, be sure that you don't leave the attachment hose draped across the vacuum cleaner in preparation for the next vacuuming session, otherwise the beetles will soon find their way out of the vacuum bag and will be crawling around the house again. One woman from my hometown says she solves this problem by stuffing a paper towel into the end of the vacuum hose.? Seal up cracks or spaces around doors and windows, if possible. Sealing up cracks and spaces will make it more difficult for the beetles to get into the house in the first place. The beetles do not need much space to crawl through. Even a door that fits the frame quite well may still leave enough space to allow the beetles access to your house. ? Spray around door frames and window frames with a bug spray containing pyrethrins or permethrin. I have discovered that the beetles will avoid crawling across bug spray with pyrethrins or permethrin, or if they do crawl across it, they die in a short while. I don't particularly like to spray bug spray inside my house, but when it's a matter of spraying or letting thousands of lady bugs into the house, spraying seems like the lesser of the two evils. I don't like killing the beetles, either, and would just as soon "live and let live," but I draw the line at a house-full of beetles.? Use the garden hose to spray the beetles off the side of the house. In the fall, when the beetles are crawling on the outside of my house by the hundreds of thousands (sometimes it's almost difficult to see what color the house is because there are so many beetles), I take the garden hose and use the sprayer attachment to spray them off the side of the house. To make an impact, this must be done two or three times a day on days when the swarms are active. I have also used an attachment for the garden hose that allows me to spray a soap-and-water mixture on the house. I haven't noticed that a soap solution is really any more effective at knocking the beetles off the house, although the exterior walls are cleaner when I'm finished!? Learn to tolerate the Multi-Colored Asian Lady Beetles.I keep telling myself that the Multi-Colored Asian Lady Beetles are swarming around my house because they are only trying to survive the winter ? just like all living things try to survive. In the insect world, the beetles are known as predators because they eat aphids and other plant pests. A few years from now, the beetles may be in a low cycle, and then, perhaps, I will wish there were more of them when the aphids begin attacking crops, gardens and flowering plants. (I still don't want the beetles invading my house by the thousands, though.)********************Copyright 2004 LeAnn R. Ralph.

There are a lot of vacuum cleane rin the market out there, just suited to your needs. With upright, canister, HEPA filtered, bagged and bagless, there is always one that you can count on.

There are 2 ways in which a vacuum cleaner works. First, and the way we rate a vacuum on most is how debris and dirt is picked up off of a carpet and the floor. When searching for a vacuum cleaner, the power of the suction motor, is very important for getting good performance.

The second reason, which often left out, is about how well the vacuum filters the air and puts it back into the home. Those with allergy problems will find a HEPA vacuum to be the best choice. There are many models of HEPA vacuums that can filter out 99% of pollens, dust, and other common household allergens.

There is also the choice of canister or upright vacuum, as this is more or less based on the personal preference. Both vacuum types have their advantage and disadvantages. The heads of canister vacuums are able to reach under your furniture, making it easier to vacuum the stairs.

Canister vacuums have a retractable electric cord, which is much more convenient than wrapping the cord back around the neck of the vacuum. It is often times easier to push the light weight canister vacuum head as opposed to pushing a canister style vacuum.

When choosing a vacuum cleaner, keep in mind of what you plan to vacuum. There are several types intended for different uses. If you have hardwood floors, you obviously wouldn't want to use a carpet vacuum.

These little things will be a huge factor in selecting your vacuum cleaner. If you play your cards right, you'll have the perfect vacuum cleaner for your home. .

A Car wash system requires certain sophisticated equipment that speeds up the process of cleaning. A variety of car wash equipment and a large number of dealers are available in the market, so choosing selections for your business should be made after a careful study of your requirements. Dealers and manufacturers with good track records will ensure lower maintenance costs and higher efficiency in your car wash.

The most important equipment, of course, is the conveyor, which takes the car through different stages of washing and to the other end looking as good as new. The correlator will ensure the safe and smooth entry of the car into the conveyor and is as important as the conveyor itself.

High-pressure equipment is the key to a speedy and effective car wash. High-pressure foam, water, and soap sprays clean every corner of the car as nothing else can. McNeil's, a trusted manufacturer of car wash equipment since 1982, has complex high-pressure systems like the Under Chassis Wash, Rinse Arch, Eliminator Wheel Cleaner and Foam Hawk that take care of the cleaning of almost all parts of a car. Their other exclusive products include wash curtains; foam brushes for wheels, sides and tires; dryers; and tunnel systems.

Tunnel systems guarantee the smooth progress of the cars through the car wash systems in the bay. The conveyor runs through the tunnel system, where foamers, underbody washes, top brushes, air dryers, tire treatments, and rain arches are fitted at different points, and the car on the conveyor is cleaned step by step. Fuller's Car Wash Equipment Co. offers a range of tunnel equipment that uses soft-cloth and touch-free accessories, spot-free rinses and central vacuum systems.

Support equipment for car wash systems include Hydraulic power packs, washer extractors, water reclaim systems, air compressors, vacuums, high- and low-pressure pump stations, and hot water heaters. These form the specific parts that initiate the cleaning process using brushes, dryers and foamers. All the equipment requires a heavy power source and a digital control system to ensure smooth functioning.
Copyright 2006 The Janitorial Store

A growing area that offers plenty of opportunity and potential profit for building service contractors is cleaning health care facilities. Besides hospitals, there are nursing homes, doctor's offices, clinics, hospices, and dental offices that all need cleaning. With the aging baby boomer population, the number of medical facilities will continue to increase in the next few years. Most hospitals employ in-house cleaning crews, but there is a growing trend towards outsourcing cleaning services. Even if a hospital or medical facility has their own in-house cleaning crew, they will sometimes hire a cleaning service for offices, public areas or specialty cleaning (carpets, floors, windows). This presents an opportunity for janitorial cleaning companies who are willing to invest some time and effort into learning the ins and outs of cleaning medical facilities.

Begin by realizing that cleaning in the medical world is regulated and you must follow specific rules and guidelines. In many instances, you will need to document your cleaning procedures. There will be extra training required for your employees and you must provide close supervision to assure that everything is cleaned correctly. You may have to invest in more equipment, chemicals, and supplies to meet the requirements of a particular facility. In addition, laws in your state may require you, as an employer in the health care industry, to provide your employees with hazard communication training, hepatitis shots, and instructions in the proper disposal of biohazard materials.

There are many types of medical facilities, so take some time to study the market in your area before deciding to add this niche to your business. First decide which type of facility your company is best suited to clean. When you are just starting out, it's better to begin with smaller clinics and doctor offices. Another choice when just starting out is to provide specialized services such as floor care, carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning, and window cleaning. Smaller facilities and specialized cleaning gives you a chance to learn the ropes and build up a reputation in this area. This is also worthwhile, because owners of janitorial cleaning services say that it's from word of mouth referrals that they gain new health care clients.

It is important to know there are different definitions of "clean" when considering the needs of medical facilities. When you traditionally think of cleaning, it implies removing all visible soil. However, when it comes to health care buildings, clean can also mean disinfecting, sterilizing, and decontaminating surfaces. If you are thinking of presenting a proposal to a medical facility, it is important to know the difference between these three terms. You are often dealing with more than just soil removal -- you are removing soil that can be highly contaminated. It is important that your employees follow documented procedures and don't take any shortcuts.

Sterilization or disinfection is common in most areas of a medical facility. Sterilization refers to cleaning with powerful chemicals that destroy all known microbial life. Disinfection is different in that it means killing specific types of pathogens and microorganisms. If you are involved with either procedure you will be using hospital grade disinfectants.

In addition, you must pay special attention to mops, cleaning cloths, and buckets. These items should be cleaned every day, and sometimes after each use. Most medical facilities are now using microfiber cleaning cloths and flat mops, as there is less chance of cross-contamination. It may also be a requirement to use a true HEPA filtered vacuum. A HEPA vacuum cleaner is necessary to protect indoor air quality and prevent microorganisms from becoming airborne.

When cleaning in a medical facility, workers must assume that every surface they clean can pose a potential risk to themselves, employees, patients, and visitors. Janitorial staff needs to be follow the regulations established by OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) about exposure to blood borne pathogens.

It is essential that cleaning staff have the proper personal protective equipment (PPE), which includes gloves and eye protection. Wearing the right PPE helps to assure that your cleaning staff will not touch contaminated surfaces and protects them from splashes and spills.

One of the challenges of cleaning hospitals is that they are often open 24 hours a day, so there are unique situations you may have to work around. Large projects, such as cleaning hard floors or carpets, may involve blocking off areas until the project is completed. The same holds true for public rest rooms. Another challenge you might face in this setting is the noise caused by vacuum cleaners. You may need to buy "quiet" vacuum cleaners, which may cost more than conventional vacuum cleaners. In addition, many facilities are now requiring that you vacuum hard surface floors opposed to dust mopping because vacuuming reduces the amount of dust and other particulates that can become airborne.

There are constant changes and innovations in the equipment and supplies that are used or are required to be used in health care facilities. Some of the new products in the marketplace include:

* Vapor Cleaning -- These are compact and low moisture steam cleaning machines. They can be used on various surfaces including hard floors, carpeting, fabric partitions and toilets. These machines can sanitize surfaces without the use of harsh chemicals.

* Electrostatic Sprayer -- This is a new product that uses an air assisted electrostatic sprayer to apply disinfectants, deodorizes, cleaners, sealants, and various coatings. According to the manufacturer, it is much more efficient and effective than traditional sprayers.

* New disinfectants and hydrogen peroxide cleaners -- New non-toxic cleaners are continually being introduced.

If you want to expand into cleaning health care facilities, you must be willing to spend time learning about the best ways to keep facilities clean while using the least toxic chemicals.

Breaking into cleaning health care facilities can be difficult. Many are hesitant to use outside contractors for their cleaning services. In addition, it can be tough to get in touch with the right person at a health care facility. You need to break the barrier and find the decision maker who realizes that hiring an outside cleaning staff can reduce their overall costs.

In the health care field there are constant changes and advances. This includes the supplies and equipment that are used in cleaning facilities. If you decide to venture into this area you must be willing to do your homework and keep up with technological changes and housekeeping practices. If you have a thoroughly trained staff and offer quality services at a fair price the field will be wide open.

It is almost a certainty that the medical industry will grow significantly. This can be a boom and a profit maker for janitorial cleaning services that have trained their staff to properly clean health care facilities. Specializing in cleaning health care facilities can help a cleaning service owner stay on top of current trends and equipment in the industry. Becoming known as a medical facility cleaning specialist can open many doors and lead to higher profits.

If your floors could talk, what would they say? After all, they are walked on, dropped on, dripped on, spilled on ? they live through it all. What do you think they would say? Basic house cleaning must include attention to your floors or your cleaning efforts elsewhere will seem that much less rewarding. There is nothing complicated about keeping your floors clean. Follow these general household cleaning tips, and both you and your floors will be happier you did.

Multi-Floor Cleaners

At least once a month, your floors need to see the light of day through the haze of dirt that has built up on them. Using a simple, earth friendly floor cleaner (FULLER Multi-Floor Cleaner) will do the trick to return your floors to their naturally shiny state. But be sure to check the cleaner's label for words like biodegradable and environmentally safe.

Earth friendly products are preferable because they will not hurt the environment and will not cause problems in sewage systems. It's just the responsible thing to do. Multi-Floor cleaners are safe to use on most floors including hardwood, linoleum, tiles, marble, vinyl, and many others. They are gentle cleaners that leave no residue behind. Just spray onto your floor and pass a damp mop to clean away all visible traces of dirt, grease, and grime. Easy and quick.

When You Need To Mop

Spot cleaning is always advisable when it comes to maintaining your floors' cleanliness. Best to wipe up a spill immediately before it has a chance to dry and becomes a sticky, dirt-attracting mar on your floor. But passing a damp mop once a week is the simplest way to keep built up dirt in check.

Standard mops designed with at least 4-ply, 100% cotton strands (FULLER Wet Mop) are still considered the best for absorbing water as well as for cleaning surface dirt from your floors. To maintain the life of your mop though, be sure to hang it away from all surfaces so that it is allowed to air dry properly. This will avoid the problem of mildew growth.

When A Quick Sweep Will Do

Once a day, if time allows, a quick sweep will do to keep your floors from crunching under your feet. Sweep up food crumbs, hair, pet fur, and other visible dirt particles with a lightweight, easy-to-use broom (FULLER Kitchen Broom). Brooms with split end bristles are known to be the best at picking up the most amount of dirt in a single sweep.

Do your best to sweep under counters, tables, and in corners. These are the places dirt loves to run and hide in. When you feel the time has come, though, to move the furniture away from the walls and attack what lies underneath, it would be more efficient to forego even the best broom and pull out the vacuum cleaner.

Clean floors are paramount when it comes to maintaining household cleanliness and health. Once a floor is thoroughly clean, maintenance becomes quick and easy. And if your floors could talk, they would say "thank you".

Piscataway, NJ (ContentDesk) January 28, 2006 -- LifeTips announces the launch of the Cleaning Tip Site in the LifeTips network of millions of information seekers at LifeTips.com. Bio-Ox.com will now become the exclusive cleaning client in the LifeTips network. In this day and age, its hard to keep any home clean and germ free, explained Byron White, President of LifeTips. This Cleaning Tip Site will be the perfect place for consumers to educate themselves on what products to use and what services to request for efficient cleaning purposes.Sample Cleaning Tip:* Cutting Down on DustAnyone who spends hours dusting furniture and other areas of the home would love to find a way to cut down on the amount of dust in the house. The best way to minimize dust is to have your duct work cleaned, and use air filters on your vents. Carpeting also attracts dust, so you may want to reconsider having wall to wall in every room. Be sure to frequently wash bedding as well. It is important to use a good vacuum cleaner, such as a shop vac, rather than one that sweep, which often just redistributes the dust. Also, when dusting in your home, do not use a feather duster. This just causes the dust to settle else where. Instead, use a cloth sprayed with dusting spray or a dryer sheet.About Bio-OX.comBio-OX.com's desire to offer the optimal balance of today's cleaning demands with the need to protect our environment is what drives Bio-OX International.
